I know the pictures do not do much justice...but I was on the run as I mentioned earlier.
Ingredients
1.5 Cups Sour Cream
2 tbsp each - Finely chopped red onions, bell peppers (red/green), tomatoes and parsley/coriander
2 tbsp Lemon zest
1/2 tsp Ground pepper
1 tsp Chilie powder (adjust to suit your need)
And, of course, some salt to taste!
Method
- In a large bowl toss in all the ingredients and blend
- Serve with baked pita chips
TIP - If you are planning on making the dip ahead of time, then add salt and stir just before serving
SERVES 8-10 people, depending on how deep you dip your chip ;)
Slurp! It looks delicious! And fixing it in less than 15 minutes sounds even better! Very nice...bookmarked to try asap! I did have a deluge of party-hosting last 2-3 weeks, so let me give it a rest for a bit before we start again :) But the next party we have, Im def making this and make everyone dip, dip, dip, deeper into the dip :)
ReplyDeletePsst...Im just worried that all the ingredients in the dip will make me a sitting duck and I'll forget to play perfect hostess thereafter! :)
Sour cream dip looks lovely and refreshing.
ReplyDeleteThats a delicious dip, i can have them as spread with anything..
ReplyDeletemmm..thts yummy..:)..and fxing it in less than 15min makes it more interesting..:D..baked pita chips means..the usual pita bread baked in oven right?? have not tried pita bread jus once or twice with hummus...as v r not g8 fan of pita bread!!!..but neways will give this a try soonn..
ReplyDelete@ Madhuri - Yup.. you ought to try it. This is a crowd pleaser!!
ReplyDelete@ Simply.food and Priya - Thank You!! Yes, it works great as a spread too...but the sour taste should be balanced out by some other flavours..so you could add tomatoes, lettuce etc. to your sandwich/wrap
@Archana - Yes. Pita Chips are broken pieces of pita bread baked in the oven. You need not bake them at home.. you shud be able to get it in the stores. If you do not like pita chips you can try using any other chip, but make sure its something that's heavy textured because the dip is thick. So, if you use potato chips for instance, the chips may break when you dip 'em.
Have fun trying out with other chips. It will even make a great dip for carrot sticks/cucumber etc. Great way to get kids eat veggies, eh?!
Looks delish Deepti!! Gotta try soon..
ReplyDeletecan't wait to make this next time my guests come! super easy and yummy.
ReplyDeleteSure Neha...Let me know how your guests like it!
ReplyDeleteI came across this one yesterday and I thought I'd try it out, and I must say....
ReplyDeleteThis tastes wonderful!!! So full of flavor and life. I used it for chips, but today when I made some tortilla wraps, I thought I would add it to all the content which includes guacamole, and wow....it just worked so well.
Thank you so much for this wonderful dip Deeepti! ^____^
@ Anonymous - I'm glad you tried this one. Do save the recipe for every bag of chips you purchase!
